The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound effect on the criminal legal system. Among other things, overall arrests and cases charged have been lower than prior years, those arrests that have happened tend to be for more serious offenses, and few cases have been completed. The extraordinary reduction in our future years metrics in 2020 and 2021 are partly a reflection of this change.

Firearms

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound effect on the criminal legal system. Among other things, overall arrests and cases charged have been lower than prior years, those arrests that have happened tend to be for more serious offenses, and few cases have been completed. The extraordinary reduction in our future years metrics in 2020 and 2021 are partly a reflection of this change.
